The Land of resplendent One Horned Rhinoceros, constituting 2/3rd of their Population and with its charismatic landscapes and water bodies appealing wildlife enthusiast for perfect picturesque. The rhino population in Kaziranga National Park is 2,400 approx. It constitutes 1,651 adult rhinos (662 male, 800 are females, 186 unsexed); 294 sub-adults (90 males, 114 females, 90 unsexed); 251 juveniles and 205 cubs. Kaziranga is home to the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world, and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. Kohora is the main entrance of Kaziranga. The most easy and prosperous way to reach kohora is via Guwahati, Guwahati is well connected via Rails and Air from Delhi. Kohora is approx 4-5 hours away from Guwahati. One can also reach kohora via Jorhat which has airport as well as railway station and it only take 1 and half hour to reach kohora. There are many other local routes but the above is more comfortable.
